It's The Climb

Whenever I was warded in the hospital for the treatment of my condition, I encountered a lot of patients who were in the same boat as mine. Whenever I had the chance, I will never miss the opportunity to talk to them, to hear what they have to say about their predicaments. We all have cancer, but of different types, and with different stories. But we all have one thing in common. We all believed in the power of Hope.

Hope. A powerful healer that sometimes even our mind could not comprehend with. It is the physician of each misery. With hope, seemingly impossible things can turn into reality.

As one famously said,

"Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying even when there seemed to be no hope at all."

I always tell myself to never give up, even when I hit bumps over and over again. Even if I have to lose this battle, I believe what matters more is the struggle. It is the things I've learnt throughout my struggle that has shaped me into who I am, not the disease, neither is the outcome of this battle.

I can't help but appreciate one very strong sayings in the lyric of the song entitled, "The Climb";

Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side,
It's THE CLIMB.

So everyone, stop asking, "Why?" anymore but start to say "What have I learned from my experience?". And things, no matter how bleak they might look, will soon start to brighten up. Insha Allah.

Do watch this video, specially for everyone. Enjoy!

salam mas,

saya dah x reti dah nak komen kat awak macam mana..this is the power of belief!

saya akan terus doakan awak. InsyaAllah.

Sejak sebulan 1/2 yg lepas, saya attending a course on Biotechnology related. Sebelum ni saya sangat concern pasal environment, global warming, climate change, etc.

but, since I know u, saya punya cabang tu makin meluas. Dalam 8 hari since last two days, saya ada course on Clinical Research from Biotechnolgy perspective. We are currently working hard to find solution for various types of cancer. but everything back to the will of Allah.

Kat Malaysia sekarang application masih kurang. We have good facilities but we are lacking of resources / raw materials to develop the product.

Semalam ada discuss psl 3 jenis antibody based drugs utk breast cancer, lung and lagi satu saya terlupa. Kat UK la tapi harganye terlalu mahal, 20,000pound per treatment.

ooh! of course we can't ensure 100% success sbb system ketahanan badan manusia lain2 kan?

Wallahualam.

Thanks Johanna, I am happy to know that you have benefited something out of my writings!

Yes, a lot of money and research has been put into the treatment of cancer nowadays. Let's hope and pray that there will come a time in the future when a real cure for cancer is finally found. Insha Allah!

I am facing difficulties at the moment and the verse 'sometimes i'm gonna have to loose' from the song reminds me to keep on fighting.

I believe that hardship teaches people to be more grateful with everything that we have..

thank you bro! May victory be ours, dunniah and akhirah..insyaAllah..

Salam Mas.. till today I regard my cancer as kurnia from Allah S.W.T. ALLAH GIVES US CANCER BECAUSE HE LOVES US. One big lesson I've learnt from this is when I really thought I was really going to die then.. the feeling that everything else was nothing, that I had nothing, nothing existed except Allah. It was a good feeling (ironically). I miss that feeling. Strange right? That was then. I really thought I was going to die, Mas. The doctor did not give a good prognosis. That was in 2004. Well Mas, people don't die of cancer, people die when Allah decides it's time's up. Ini sekadar luahan perasaan. Nothing you don't know, son.

Kak Yasmin - I can appreciate it when you say you thought you were going to die Kak. I've experienced similar feeling too. It's a very strange feeling to have, but one that consequently led us closer to our Rabb.

And yes, at the end of the day, death is in Allah's hands, and we shall leave such affair to none but Him.
