4th dose

Assalamualaikum wbt

I've been going to Royal Hallamshire Hospital since last week as a medical student. Tomorrow, I'll be coming in as a patient, receiving my 4th dose.

I've been putting in cannulaes into patients' arm throughout last week, but tomorrow I'll have one myself. And I hope it wont be another 5 attempts before the nurse manages to put the cannulae in, insya Allah!

I noticed that the effects of the drugs kicked in rather quicker with the last dose compared to the previous ones. I guess that is something I need to anticipate as my body starts to gradually give in to the effects of the drugs. At least, a kind friend of mine has offered to supply me with Pati Ayam Brand next week, so let's hope it'll do the trick!

Jep's not gonna be around to update everyone on the treatment and how I'll cope, so don't hesitate to send me a text message if anyone feels the need to. Insya Allah I'll always have my phone by my side throughout the recovery period.

930 am, O2 Day Case Unit. Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

Salaam,

Actually I was supposed to post Mama's comment up here since she doesn't have an account of her own. Unfortunately, the message got lost due to some glitch and I can't get Mama to rewrite it again coz she thinks I'm playing around as I always do. So I thought I should write something. It has been a while after all....
Everything's going fine here. With Jep back, everything seems a lot more cheerful. We apologise for this comes at your expense. Insya Allah, we'll send another, maybe not so court-jester'ish, but equally caring and adoringly annoying person to look after you.
If you haven't realised, all of us here miss you to bits. We are all praying for you. And we are all extremely proud of you, for the strength and courage you've shown. Jep was the lucky one, he got to witness all of it with his own eyes. Good luck with the next dose, I believe by the time I finish writing this, it would be time for your dose of Dacarbazine.
Aiysha is doing fine. Better than she anticipated, in my opinion. Scored quite well for her 1st Semester. Atiqah, well, let's just say she's loving school at the moment. Amazingly focused based on what she's been telling me via sms'es. But hey, I'm the elder brother so I might not be getting the true picture but I'll choose to give her the benefit of the doubt. Jep is of course preparing to leave for Aussie. Mama is busy with work and Papa is enjoying his retirement. I'm pretty sure it won't be long till he comes up with more plans to expand his growing agricultural empire. Insya Allah, we all pray that everything goes well.
We're spending the weekend in KK this week. Looking forward to it, it has been half a year since I left. Anyway, will write again the next time I mess up with Mama's post. In the meantime, you stay strong. Always in our prayers and hearts. Andi.

Assalamualaikum wbt,

Andi, thanks a lot for the updates, nice of you to share the stories of everyone back home. I'm sure mom's comment has somehow gone missing because of the technical glitch, how on earth could you have been messing around anyway kan? =)

Send my warmest regards and love to everyone back home, and do share the blog incase they're not aware of it.
